Saving session tonight between 5pm and 6pm.
Octopus was accepted at 14.8p / kWh.
The incoming solar will help the batteries export even more than usual.
Can I ask what's the best way to approach this for maximum gain?
First saving session since batteries installed.
Just export as much as possible during the hour?
First, do you have an export tariff ?, because if not its not worth you doing anything out of your normal operation.
If you do, then save enough power in the batteries to force export during 5pm and 6pm and you will get paid the 15p / kWh export rate plus the Saving Session rate which is likely to be around 13p / kWh.
18.7kW PV > 111MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 34MWh generated
7 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
90kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 530 m3

Thanks nowty...
Yes, export tariff is setup.
Sounds like a plan. Cheers.
These are the times when the DNO's export limit is a pain in the arse.
Windy here, but no nuclear anymore, I see that Hartlepool R2 is off due to another pod boiler leak - those boiler tubes really are abysmal compared to some of the other boiler tube layouts. Other wise Heysham stage 2 R7 is on statutory outage and R8 is off load for refuel. The other units are all generating. WOW! the updates page is very short these days, a testament to how the nuclear fleet has dwindled.
Fun fact, did you know that all the first generation Magnox reactors with the exception of Wylfa can be classed as small modular reactors as they were all under 300MWe, so if SMR's are the future why didnt the UK just go back to the past and build some more? Oh yeah theres no real profit in doing that is there - silly me.

You also have to register / sign up for it on your Octopus account. We see the alerts here* hours before the invitation email comes in. You also get Octopints for participating, not that they are worth much.
(* which have let me register before going out when I would have missed it otherwise.)
P.s. n.b. my Octopus account says it's 6pm to 7pm

Thanks AE-NMidlands...
I've taken part in the past, (never used to miss one) was just first time since batteries and was was wondering if it best just to export everything you can during the hour.
But yeah thanks for reminding me.... Come to think of it, I don't think I have received an email inviting me!
