Which tolls are "free to EV"

#1

Post by Mr Gus »

When we picked up the Tesla we paid crossing fee (i'm sure of it) for Dartford QE 2 bridge crossing.
However the wife went to pay for yesterdays early morning & afternoon crossings & found nothing to pay on the registration of it as a class B vehicle.

Does this mean that upon picking up it wasn't fully processed by DVLA systems (was a sat afternoon so definitely chargeable timeframe)
Night crossing I see can be free at point of use, but the 3pm should be chargeable I thought?

So does this mean VED = Free for Dart charge?
If so where else "toll wise" is currently exempt from charge please?
(Be it Scotland Wales / England ..or even Europe)

BTW, whilst reading on Wikipedia, came across the Dartford tunnel cycle bus..

I didn't realise the Dartford Crossing was toll-free for EVs either - went over it twice a few months ago in the space of two weeks, I paid both times.

Hmm.
Dan do you pay per trip on the website individually?

Turns out wife was in the middle of opening an account with Dart, & so when she went to pay it was showing as no payment necessary (not monies taken)...why I don't know as she doesn't use it often.

Therefore, it picked up on the fact that she'd been through yesterday, & although the account was only opened today it grabbed the payment whilst she was setting it up.

So sorry, you do still have to pay unless its the night cycle of free travel.
