An excellent day today prepping log areas for tomorrows inflow of logs. Spoke to SWMBO after all the work had been completed and floated the idea of installing the spare storage heater in the front lounge. Glad I was chilling out as I almost fell over when she said 'OK'!
Just been down to cabin for a look and I think this might be a 3 element job which would be a further 67.5kg's of thermal mass. I've got 2 days of logging, then a Camelot guy coming over to see the batteries, then we are trading in the Leaf, then its my Birthday so this SH may be a few days before install. Lucky we have a single spare hive plug knocking about so we'll be good to go quite quickly.
I reckon this SH will put me up at the 100A fuse limit and its safe to say that we are now ready for WT1 to crank, game on!
Any Gas engineers care to hazard a guesstimate figure on efficiencies of the average wet heating system gas boiler side? I reckon these SH's are as close to 100% as you can get?
252Kgs WS TM
180Kgs SH TM
67.5Kgs Future SH TM
That's 499.5 Kgs TM! I'm calling it a 1/2 tonne by including the cooking slates on top of the WS.
The pic below is at 17.53 hrs tonight and the SH power has been off since 02.30 hrs. I have the output set at 9 so i'm not exactly holding back.
Just checked the Gas meter and we have used 5 Cubic Mtrs in the last 5 days, that places us at around 340kWh for the month if all was linear, bitchin!

That's a 90% reduction in gas consumption January 21 compared to Jan 22. Holy canasta Batman!
