Nowty Towers has been in profit everyday so far in March  , although I am expecting a small loss tomorrow (Friday).

With 15p / kWh export and 7p / kWh import, if the "grid feed in" (export) is over half the external energy supply (import) its a profit. :xx:

If I’m managing to be cash positive with my teeny battery and 3.6kW inverter then you should be in clover!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

Doing well the last week or so. Checked at lunchtime and we are looking good through to Oct.

Happy and slightly surprised at the export rate this early in year. Must adjust expectations upwards. :D

Just realised that was my first £1 per hour export moment. Wow! :o

The Nowty Towers record for exporting on the Outgoing Octopus in a single day is 122.2 kWh on 28th July 2024.
https://camelot-forum.co.uk/phpBB3/view ... ord#p48138
Tomorrow I'm going to attempt 130kWh+.
A crisp £20 from the Octopus would be ideal but thats 133.3333333....... kWh, sounds like a challenge. :D

Are you big export people on 3-phase? or just going dawn to dusk?
A smallish array, a 3.6kW inverter and G98 approval cramps one's style a bit, especially when on top of that (I suspect) my export is being throttled back by the grid voltage...
A
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh Givenergy batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!

No 3 phase here, thats why its a challenge, its a 24hr run midnight to midnight, my last record last year,

3.6kW inverter here. I export at full whack from 0300-0600, 0900-1800, and 2100-0000. The rest of the time I game additional cheap slots and charge from the grid.

How long is the cable from your CU to inverter? And what size is it?

What has been your best export day this Spring? It's still a learning curve as we've not been exporting for a full year.

Ww generally export 07.30 to 17.00 @ 100% then down to 40% 17.00 to 23.30

Export PB on 2nd April 3.6kW nominal Hybrid, first £10 day. I would like to crack 80kWh this year. Might manage that in the fortnight away coming up.

I’m similar to stinsy with a 5 kw inverter give or take a few mins either side of his times

Import limited to 0030-0530
Exporting and using all other times whilst nursing to 48% SOC as that is all the 3.6kw inveter and the small charger we have can put back in over the cheapslot. Second charger is ordered and awaiting g99 permission for a second inverter and 7.2kw export.

Import rates different 8.5p import 15p export.
Small gains, but a very welcome change.

Increased solar and inverter power will be a game changer.
