
What always amaze me was the quality of seafood - Limoges is pretty much as far from the sea as you can get (comparing with U.K.), but the choice and quality of the seafood

And affordable.
This is why travel is so important - gives you different reference points.
If you do get as far south as Limoges, come back up via Poitiers - could even stop off at Futuroscope.
Totally different drive up than the route further inland to Limoges.
If you can come this way up, I’d suggest stopping off at Saumur - great place on the Loire. Good castle, nice city, great restaurants next to the river.
