Nice to have a hot shower in my own shower tonight, and after the day I had at work I really needed one.

I've had an email reply from the director, apologising, and saying they'll get it sorted out, he also offered a quite sizeable meal voucher for a local pub chain, however I don't think it would be prudent to accept at the moment, any compensation should be when they've actually finished the job, including the snagging.

I'd stand by on that. Log the hours that you and swmbo have lost due to the 4 day 2 apprentice route that the company thought was best for you the client.

At the end once you've went through your system test period open a discussion with the director on what he'd deem to be appropriate compensation for the hours logged plus stress.

Once that's settled, sign off on the job. Glad you got a shower.

It's nice to be nice but it's also nice to plan the job properly with your clients best outcome in mind. That would have been your most basic expectation? They've lost sight of that, thought of themselves and need to be reminded of who pays their wages.
