I am sorry to resurrect such an old post. Please could one of you kind people help me, I have an immersun t1050 and something has gone bang and it has stopped working, the trouble is though we don’t know what the component is that went bang, it is meant to be in U5 slot I think.

Thank you all.

That's not a problem.

Their can be a number of things wrong with them and you really need some knowledge in where to look and test. You are dealing with dangerous voltages when testing.

Slot u2 doesn't ring any bells - any chance of a picture?

U2 on one I have is a 6 pad semiconductor with a marking 3005. Their are different versions of the pcb though- this is from an early version. U5 is the same device.

If you search for immersun, there was an immersun repair 2 which listed several parts, but the U1 (and U2 i think) were gate drivers with a lot more than 6 legs, and the 6 leg devices were Q-numbered dual fets (the part no.s were listed in that thread.

But thinking about it my immersun repairs were on various MK2 immersuns (T1060) and the T1050 is a MK1.

I do have a MK1 here which might get fixed one day, but bizzarely, i can find U1, U3 through to U10, but no sign of U2, so i think a picture might still be needed.

Found it!

I was foxed by the fact that every other U was a semiconductor , but U2 is a relay (DPDT 5v coil 16A) :whako:

I would have thought the OP would have referred to it as a relay and I would be surprised if it was unidentifiable as one.

on one of my pcbs marked as A1079-6A

Who knows?
Until the OP comes back with a 'yes it looks like that pic' or 'no no it looks like this' we're just guessing; there are too many different versions of the immersun to know without a pic.
