Did you see the colusseum and palatine while there?
Congrats on the excellent family event, all the best to the newly weds!
We stayed in the road "Via del Colosseo" which is like just next to the Colosseum and the wedding was held in Basilica di Santa Francesca Romana which is literally in the Palatine area !

Details about the saint,

In a special private tour of the place 2.5 years ago (wedding was supposed to be May 2020) we got to see the actual body of Saint Frances who is interned in the crypt behind a glass panel. Its a bit creepy,
And in the Vestry, we got to see a very famous original painting from the 12th century.

The wedding dress was insane, and that picture is not including a 7 metre long veil, which was missing from the wedding dress !, until literally being sent over in a taxi just 1 hour before the wedding. There was a LOT of swearing in Italian over the phone !.
I just put on my £78, 3 piece TKMAX suit and kept out of it. My shirt was a nice dress shirt from M&S which I already had. I spent another £40 on a couple of alterations from a local Chinese women who did a superb job to the suit. The wedding dress was the worst type for entering that church and she had been warned about that, steep steps which had to be climbed in ridiculous shoes and the front of the wedding dress getting trapped by the steps in front. She nearly fell over 3 times but I managed to keep her upright. I will never forget that walk the bride into the church experience.
And the icing on the cake is that the Pope sent a hand delivered letter from the Vatican on the morning of the wedding to the church. I thought this might be standard in Rome, but no, turns out the father of the groom has quite high level contacts (enough said).
And my energy trader friend whom I sometimes speak about is the groom.
