Thing is when protest is effectively made against the law you have no option but to break the law, would they be gluing themselves if not "kettled in" by the authorities in one form or the other...
Seems Berliners have more right of protest than we do (August 1st 2020 covid protests we found ourselves unwittingly caught up amongst had negligible police presence considering the crowds) we saw plenty of them walking in very large trails prior to the central meet up & the meet up itself, loud music, banners, voices, ..maskless! ..no angry frothing at the mouth types visible, just well mannered folk who we'd also seen at breakfast at our packed hotel being very quiet & fuelling up for a long hot day, luckily many of the streets were wide in the main due to post war thought & design in reconstruction.
More police presence at a train station than on the route when busy.. singular police, no riot shields no antagonism, so unlike many of our "boys"
