Where am I ?

3 Euros for 0.5 litre bottle.

7.30pm and still 30 degrees.

Did the storm "Bastian" bypass you? We had significant rain this afternoon/evening with hail in places (enough to damage cars) which was expected to hit further East later.
Edit looking at current radar it all seems a little to the North atm but I'm not sure it's finished yet.

We were driving to Vienna and our mobiles went off siren mode.

We saw huge cloud development and the sky turned very dark. But thankfully we missed most of it, some rain but not torrential. Saw quite a few lightning strikes in front of us. But the road seemed to via us away from the worst of it and in the end the traffic jam into Vienna was more troublesome.

I must have been on lesser travelled roads. In my short time there (5 days or so) it was cold, liquid & sweet. Sorry to hear about the pollution.

No supercharging today as we are having a few days in Vienna.

Spent half the day at Schönbrunn Palace and the afternoon at the Zoo which is nearby. Not an awful fan of zoo’s, but we had to tick the panda off our bucket list and the Edinburgh ones are no longer there.

Spent about an hour taking hundreds of photos to get the right pose.

And in my absence Nowty Towers is doing its thang.

If you get chance, try the Belvedere. Some Klimt, very unstuffy, to the point they were showing ‘pornography’ or mucky art the last time I was there.

Nice parks around it too.

We might give that a go tomorrow, 17mins on public transport from our hotel. SWMBO sounds keen and we don’t have any firm plans apart from a dinner show tomorrow evening. :xx:

Just realised it was 20+ years when I was last there

Sure it won't have changed that much ;)

If you’re there tomorrow evening, the area in front of the Rathaus/opposite the Opera used to be great.

Loads of food/beer stalls, loads of picnic tables to enjoy the fare from said stalls, and, when I was last there ( ) recorded concerts conducted by von Karajan.

Beer, sausage, outside living and classical music - not a bad evening out ;)
