I think that's conjecture. Certainly there's more automation on the China line, and they've had longer to refine the product, as well as being more removed from the stress of Elon's Gaze?!

Was very little pride in place on the factory floor, ..should have fired them & started over.

Nope dan, we regularly (weekly) visited BCA sites for some years to view cars, as has been gone over her & elsewhere too many times, the quality of finish was a joke, when you are there to appraise a possible purchase & you saw how irregular the bodies were for gaps, the reputation was deservedly bad, anyone who gave a toss would have reworked those line problems out but they deemed them acceptable, meaning the qc was contemptible & the acceptable standard was actually dross for such an expensive tier vehicle.

A thick catalogue couldn't fill one side of a bad assembly yet wouldn't fit the other side (the S ) ..dire stuff that once seen has you looking for the other eyeline lazy faults.

Not even pride enough to make the gaps even so it looked less irregular, just massive.

MIC was a good move, massive improvements & commitment to physical finish of vehicles, upped the ante so the brand was no longer a joke at an auction house, (which they were, heard them compared to "yugo" ) as well as the "it's the future" mockery from the auctioneers that turned around, perception within the trade, there is still uncertainty elsewhere but you know anyone in a trade has a grumble.
