UK-EU to recouple electricity trading markets

Post by dan_b »

Well this has snuck out under the radar, but it seems in the recently announced set of "closer trading arrangements" between Brexit Britain and the EU, one area of trade to be re-integrated is the electricity markets, enabling cheaper trading across the growing number of Interconnectors.

It's estimated that Brexit has added something like £200million a year to the wholesale cost of the UK's electricity.
