Plumb a 25L jerry can under the ASHP to catch the condensate.
Its distilled water, which is basically what RO is, just a different method of getting it.
Great for all sorts, even putting in the iron, though limescale isnt exactly an issue up here.

Have you thought of a triangular canopy style bracket?

Condensate from an ASHP has many more contaminates than distilled water. As the air being cooled contains many things, most not visible to the naked eye, these are caught in the condensate. The list includes dust, pollen, spores both fungal and others) and depending on the siting of the ASHP it can include bird poo, organic matter such as pieces of leaves and twigs, etc.

Condensate can be good for plants but is not like distilled water.

Thanks Nora, that is pretty much what I am making. 3 of 1 mtr long. About 150mm tapering to about 50mm and 3 boards thick. Three of them in total to support two panels. Once again overengineering for the one of 80mph winds.

First one, it's currently 1.2mtr long and raf.

Each one will.ger 24hrs to dry and cure and we'll.go from there.

Well its just as well i dont have a fish tank anymore then!
Didnt know that.
Ive been wondering if i could do anything with the condensate from our ashp for a while now as i need to dig a condensate trap, because there isnt one, jist a pipe that dumps into an area by the path 🙄

Vanport has been excellent as a bbq spot. So much so that I'll be making a permanent spot in there for it. Besides the woodstore close but not too close.

Started breaking through Into courtyard area, I'm taking my time. The self start bucket is a bit empty the noo, back is saying woah Nelly as well but we're getting there a little bit at a time.

Hoping to reuse some of the timber into the gates. We'll see.

Image

Last but not least, I've got the Hoymiles hms 800 2T up and running. Even the proposed rain canopy panels are hooked in. Although not producing much as they're currently under vanport. At least it stops the Hoymiles sending error messages.

Image

Image

The glulam rain canopy supports are coming along well. Planed sanded and first coat of polyurethane varnish on to seal. Eventually they'll also be painted black before going aloft but another couple of varnish coats first.

We hit a seen 10.5kW generation today. Pretty sure that's a PB, was before this latest Hoymiles connected too 🤔. Truly into the land of fantasy now.

We have the potential to hit 12kW before Summer turns on us but tbh I'm not bothered. Getting a lot of satisfaction at seeing meaningful generation in poor conditions. Not worried once that we'd be going to grid unless it was in the overnight charging window.

Would be nice to clear £150 generation this month.

Rain canopy is ready to go up. Hopefully tomorrow. Built entirely from scrap/spare left overs from the vanport build. A bit of diy glulam, a bit of black wax and they look decent. The panels themselves are Yinty Years old and at least secondhand, might be third as the lady said her husband bought them and just never got round to doing anything with them.

Fixings to gable end will be M6 rods from the battery pack builds. The leftover cut rod ends. :D

I have kept in the forefront of my mind that aesthetics matter for this canopy. It looking good is at least as important as the power generated. I think i'm doing ok so far.

Once they are up and the panels are on i'm calling it a day on PV. We've got plenty and I am happy to finish on a proper reuse build. It was nice driving out and about today in the EVan passing fuel stations and saying to SWMBO, you don't have to go in there again. :D

At the risk of sounding risqué, managed to get it up. :xl:

Monday morning we'll do a little hole punching and get it chemically fixed. Aiming to have panels in place before France trip. Would be nice to drive away and home throwing off a tenner a day. :D Might cover a chunk of fuel costs..

Very happy with the bbq area. It grew organically and was not in any way a part of the original plan. Re used fence pailings for the horizontal backboard

Chucking it down now but tonight's bbq goes ahead!

Setback from the main run for the van too. :xl:

I particularly like this photo. Organisation emerging from the chaos of a build. A lot of things going on at people level with the vanport structure in the background and a joyous vibe overall. :D

It reminds me of times long ago when I was a wee fella. For that I am grateful.

It's a van port and don't you forget it! :D
Though looking at it now, it would seem a waste to have a van cluttering up the space you now have...

I have thought this too! I think we can get it to do many things. There is a dry shed to go up at the very end of the vanport.

I am currently removing fence pailings with about a 70% survival rate. Denailed and stacking for courtyard & gates rework. Once the courtyard is complete I'll see how much reversing space we've got to create an interim covered workshop towards the rear of the vanport..

The canopy is up & outputting. :)

Very happy with it. By this time of day the canopy is being part shaded by the gable end. No matter as it's a canopy to primarily keep rain off that happens to generate a little power. :geek:
