Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

Confidence in Net Zero collapsing

Sadly I'm not surprised. So much FUD out there, and with the global shift in attitudes towards anti-science, it feels inevitable.
Mind you whether we last until 2050 with the escalations in Ukraine at the moment is another matter!

“Net zero” seems to have been used as an excuse to funnel billions of tax/bill payer’s money into the pockets of already-wealthy people though projects of questionable environmental benefit.

“Carbon Capture” for example.
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Only yesterday HSBC abandoned their pledge for net zero by 2030, delaying it by another 20 years.

Yep, that's pee'ing me off too.

I'm all for research, and developing/testing ideas for future large scale deployment, but for now, spend the money on RE and lowering carbon emissions.

I'm sure a time will come when the balance starts to swing, but until spending on CCS outweighs the benefits (pound for pound) of reducing carbon emissions / FF consumption, then it can wait with £m's not £bn's.

Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
