Solar PV since July '22:
5.6kWp east/west facing
3.6kW Sunsynk hybrid inverter
2x 5.12kWh Sunsynk batteries
1.6kWp Hoymiles East/West facing PV on the man cave
Ripple DW 2kW
Ripple WB 200W
I am wondering whether Octopus hope to reclaim some of the costs when people who have programmed an extra battery charge forget to cancel it and find they have to pay for daytime-rate electricity when they let it repeat? I have remembered to cancel mine!
A
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh Givenergy batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Veg, fruit - and Bees!

The rewards for SS and PH are so derisory these days that a small error in the programming and reprogramming will wipe them out!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger
(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Exactly my point- and it hasn't cost them much in my case: I only managed to import 1.9 units as the sun came out and the inverter put that into the battery instead. If Octopus have surplus power to unload one day (at little cost to them) a consumer's mistake will get them an extra sale at the standard day rate until it is corrected.
However the people without batteries (who just used as much as they could in the house and garden) couldn't get caught that way.

I havent really dived into this much because I dont export and only have modest charging needs at present for the house and the car BUT a quick look at EON next drive suggests you get 7 hours at 6.5p and then you can also sign up to their smart export guarantee for 12 months at 16.5p so as it was with Octopus with a bit better rate ? Not dived into the small print but it looks like a possible option for people ? of course you have to be willing to deal with their customer service team which from my own experience was sufficient for me not to contemplate using them in future. Then of course theirs the risk that where octopus leads others follow so you could switch and get tied in for 12 months just as things change.
