IOG multiple device support

#1

Post by SimonSays »

I'm hearing from people familiar with the Octopus API that there have been changes to support multiple devices or cars per account.
Full support is supposed to be in place before the end of August.

This is interesting to me as I could connect the e-Golf using Octopus' VW integration but connected via a granny charger at, say, 6 amps quite legitimately.
Then I'd leave the Zappi to charge my I-PACE at the full 32 amps.

(the e-Golf doesn't like the stop/start nature of IOG from the charge point, so I've put a charge schedule in the car and I disable smart charging in the Octopus app when I need to charge the e-Golf)

Others may find the multiple device support interesting for, say, using the fixed £30/month unlimited charging for, ahem, other purposes.

Why not just plug your I-pace car into the granny, get some cheap slots, and charge your eGolf from the Zappi at 32A?

3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Jaguar removed third party access to their API, including Octopus. Thus you need an Octopus supported charge point to be able to have an I-PACE on IOG.
