Back up remote battery read

Afternoon lads, hybrid inverter lost comms this morning. Likely it is at Goodwe server end. Has happened before. I was reliably informed on here that Goodwe servers are in Europe for Europe so to speak. Thank you whomever posted that. Makes sense that they're still tit's up asit a holiday weekend across Europe.



Knowing my 1.5kW charge limit on the hive plug and it taking a charge on request I can infer that the battery is below 80% soc. I also know from Octopus that I'm not drawing from the grid so we are above 10% soc.

I can also infer by historical solar behaviour and being set at 55% discharge rate that all is well and we'll finish the day about 18% soc blind.

Nonetheless I think it's time I installed a 3rd party battery monitor that I can view remotely. Does anyone have any knowledge of such a device? I'd be happy with a remote Voltage reading app but would prefer to see a soc%.

More expensive but you get what you pay for, is the Victron SmartShunt and a Victron CerboGX.

Especially good if you have several battery banks and multiple charging sources, relatively easy to fit and no subscription charges.
Fintray also uses one.

The SmartShunt tells you all there is to know about the DC side of things and the CerboGX lets you see the info from anywhere. You can also connect two Victron charge controllers to the Cerbo unit.

SmartShunt, just splice your negative bus bar in two.


Add the Cerbo nearby, plug in an ethernet cable,
