Pylontech lower discharge %

#1

Post by Lincs Robert »

Hi,

Whilst I was reconfiguring things in readiness for my forthcoming additional Lux ACS3600 unit, I ran for a couple of days without the Chinese stacks. Lordy Lordy, I actually imported some power at full rate on one day, hey ho!

So I had my two original Lux units each with only 3 x US2000C Pylon batteries. Previously they had also had a couple of US2000s each in addition- but those four were earmarked for the new Lux unit so were out of circuit for this short period. Yes, for two whole days, we just about managed with a total of 14.4kWh of gross battery storage.

The US2000 has a lower discharge limit level of 10%, whereas the US2000C is 5%. As the batteries were previously mixed, I’d just assumed that the lower limit would be set at 10%, so was quite looking forward to seeing the US2000C only stack being able to go down to 5%. But that didn’t happen & I can’t understand why that was the case. The same thing happened with each of the two US2000C stacks, they both stopped discharging at 10% and I was then taking power from the grid until they started their 4 hour timed charge on Octopus Go.

I’m wondering if there is a Lux setting somewhere that needs to be altered to reflect the change from 10% down to 5%?

Any ideas anyone?

It’s a somewhat academic point as all three stacks are now operational and supplemented by Chinese stacks so hopefully I’ll not see that level of discharge.

Cheers - Rob

In the lux app, settings page on the right, discharge, on grid cut off.
Solar PV: 6.4kW solar PV (Eurener MEPV 400W*16)
PV Inverter: Solis 6kW inverter
Batteries: 14.4kWh LiFePO4 batteries (Pylontech US5000*3)
Battery Inverter: LuxPowertek 3600 ACS*2
EV: Hyundai Kona 65kWh

Found it, all were set to 10. I guess I set the ones connected to the US2000Cs to 5.

Thanks 👍

No worries, glad to help. It took me 4 months and having to ask China to figure out the "discharge current limit" in the same area giverns the total discharge power of all combined inverters. The app is not obvious at all, but once things get pointed out it's not that hard to understand.

Agreed on that general observation…….

I’ve also noticed that the individual units are reporting individual discharges the sum of which exceed the parallel view. Eg it’s currently showing 168, 156 & 137 versus 324! Whereas it should be 461. I’ll let it settle down for a day or two as it’s only been in a day. Cheers ….
