Now the charge current limit is showing 200A.... But all I'm doing is exporting!

Strange this :?

Maybe it's related to the temperature of the batteries?

A setting that limits charge until a certain temperature is reached?

Edit...

I think it is temperature related. When the battery temps go over 22-23°C the charge current limit changes automatically to 200A and I am able to charge at max power. This only affects the charging current limit though, as the discharge setting stays at 360A no matter what (unsure why it's so high).

Anyone got any ideas to sort or a setting to change?

Thanks

Think it's actually closer to 24°C when charging limit flips to 200A and max power. :surrender:

Might be worth giving tech support at sunsynk a call, they were extremely helpful and patient with me a good while back when i was having issues with my newly installed system (installer eror it turned out).
They can log in remotely and look through all your settings whilst talking.

Thanks resybaby...

SunSynk already have had a look through it and confirm everything is setup correct. I've had a look through as well and can't see anything wrong with the inverter setup. There is actually very little you can change in there to be honest.

I'm almost certain it's a setting on the battery BMS parameters that is limiting it at certain temps. Or it's a safety feature build in to the BMS.

I've reached out to Colin (where I got batteries from) and he's going to ask the technicians/engineers to see if they can figure out why it's doing it.

Quite happy to share any of the screens/settings as images from my sunsynk system with you if that will help.

Im running a conventional plug and play set up with standard daisy chained Pylontechs so im not sure it will be much good in reality, but if you think any may be useful shout up and i'll get snapping.

Fingers crossed Colin and his guys can sort out a solution

Thanks Resy... Much appreciated.

I think I am ok with all the settings being configured properly, as it does perform as expected, when the batteries go up a few degrees!

What SunSynk inverter do you have? I ended up with the 8.8kw.
I'm not to fussy on the lack of options to configure importing and exporting from batteries, which is annoying.

They are bringing out a pro version of the app which might have some extra functionality. I think I will probably go down the home assistant/solar assistant route in the near future. So I can setup some custom timers, etc.

All in all though it's performing as well as expected, runs a bit hot mind when it takes a battering charging/discharging for a few hours though.

i have an Ecco 3.6kw, which lives in the attached (unheated) garage along with the pylontech stack in a homemade 'phone box' type cupboard to keep the dust off them as best as possible.

Advantage down here in Cornwall i suppose is that it doesnt get too cold even in the mid winter, so although outside temps can drop to 0c levels, its never much colder than 10-12c in my garage, and ive not noticed any affects on my batteries/charging.

Currently sitting at 17.7c

Just realised all you kit is in your signature.... So didn't need to ask.

Mine lives in the unheated garage too... Up here in sunny Liverpool!

I say unheated, but in reality the inverter is like a little wall mounted radiator! So it warms it up a bit :D
