Sadly not, they've merely widened the range of fixings.

There was tesla printed solar tiles fanfare, but....

Depends what you mean by roofing sheet, there are plenty of frameless ones.

Yes but they all seem to be on top of an existing roof, I mean ones that can fit directly to rafters and be weathertight instead of needing roofing sheets (corrugated or steel profile).

Exactly, time saved, materials saved, weatherproof, energy making, minimising drilling & sealing through other roofing fabrication (cos there is none)

Solar conservatory? Greenhouse, shed office, shed, barn, filtered air controlled chicken barn etc etc.. yes please.

That raise was what I wanted to avoid, thus 3m tape selector & the idea of a dab of decent silicone to keep it flat, tight, stuck & waterproofed.

Of course rubber without the hump & silicone bead on top likely ok bonding too.
