To save £1000 a year at 20p/kWH means a 5kWp array.
That is more than I expected and will be pretty decent for the people who live in those houses!

Tools for sale!
Hi all. I'm trying to make some space in the garage and am selling some of my 230V tools. All presented in honest condition so the with dust/sawdust from normal use. However they're in great condition having been subjected to light DIY use despite being pro-grade tools. All come with the correct cas...

Re: Half price IOG tonight
My interpretation was that if we plugged an EV in on Monday night, everything that we used between 2330 and 0530 would be at the 50% rate as it specifically said it was for the home and suggested that other heavy loads could be performed, eg dishwashers and washing machines. The only condition was ...

Re: Half price IOG tonight
So I ran through the night on battery power. Didn't plug the car in from just before 1100 yesterday. Battereis got through effortlessly even with the AC running low-and-slow all day. Sun is up and shining now and already covering the household use as well as putting 1.5kW into the batteries. I wond...

Re: Half price IOG tonight
When can we plug the EV in? I left selling first on my inverter settings so batteries have been emptied... I need an Arne Slot. Desperately. No one actually knows. I guess after 11am is safe. In sunny weather I don't need a cheap-slot indefinitely! However, I'll probably start force-discharging my ...

Re: Starting out on my heat pump journey
Thanks guys, I'd just like to make it clear that I never signed up for a Heatgeek install, and wasn't even aware until the problems started that one of the guys was heatgeek trained, its something I discovered when I looked for his surname and it was on one of the companies posts somewhere. This is...

Do you fancy a re jig of your oldest panels Nowty?
It seems that you can now faff with FiT installs without informing them so long as you keep the power the same. Surely that it your lowest-hanging fruit for additional capacity?

Re: Europe - Spain, Portugal and France major power disruptions
The mystery deepens  https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/power-blackouts-spain-portugal-britain-b2741631.html I’ve seen that reported elsewhere too. Our grid is vulnerable to lots of high-power loads switching on or off simultaneously. The rise in networked devices must surely be...

Some information about what went wrong, and how they brought the Grid back online https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c175ykvjxyeo It is reassuring to see a real-world dark grid being restarted. It seems that Hydro, interconnects, and gas were enough to bring the grid up. Air conditioners are relat...
