Re: The Green Living Forum closure
Hi Ratty, sorry to hear about the GLF closure, I guess that's just the way forums evolve. I certainly learned a lot there and had some enjoyable discussions, thanks to you and all the opther mods for making it a welcoming space. Glad to see you have found sanctuary over here, are you bringing all th...

Re: Tripping mcb
When you try to reset the MCB does it make a big "splat" itself and fail to latch? if so obviously you do have a pretty serious short somewhere, if no splat but just fails to latch it might be a knackered MCB itself, fairly rare but not unknown. If you have unplugged and switched off every...
Re: Sparrows!
Brilliant, this is a hobby of mine too, did anyone remember the big garden birdwatch this weekend? I have a selection of boxes around the garden, some with 27mm hole for blue and coal tits, some with 32mm hole for great tits and finches and a couple with half fronted boxes for robins and starlings. ...

Re: Out of the blue, almost!
Hallo chaps, I thought an update might be useful for some, apologies if this is a bit explicit but no point in beating around the bush. Mods if you think this inappropriate feel free to delete. When I was first diagnosed it didn’t really seem real, maybe there was some mistake was a question rattlin...

Re: Starting out on my heat pump journey
Hi Ronski, I am starting to think along the same lines, we "only" have six zones for the heating but as we rarely have more than any 2 on at once I am thinking that the pipework will be fine, our largest zone is 3 pretty big rads fed from 22mm primaries and then 15mm secondaries. I would ...

Re: Garage Floor Damp Issue... Any suggestions please?
Looking good, I would let that thoroughly dry out then flick some water on it from a brush, if it looks in the least absorbent I would give it a couple of blackjacks. As BTB says you have done the hard work opening it all up, don't risk doing it twice. I was looking at some old damp remediation jobs...

Bloody hell Joe, Mrs Desp is well impressed with your journey after I mentioned it to her, so much so she says "maybe we should get a heatpump".................Shall I order one?? F**k and there I was thinking I'm too busy having cancer and restoring old motorbikes to take on YET ...
