Re: Bi-directional charging

It’s frustrating that the government don’t make any long term decisions and stick to them. I pay £108 a year for a gas supply, I haven’t used this year, because we have a gas fire. OFGEM have stated that companies have to offer a standing charge free tariff this year but still no sign of mainstream ...

Bi-directional charging

With Octopus releasing a V2G product including a BYD lease car then we are hopefully getting close to the next generation of chargers and opportunities to run homes and export back to the grid and make some savings, as early adopters of solar did 15 years ago,and still reaping the benefits of that f...

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours

I got a slot but exported during the whole hour as it wasn’t clear what would be credited.
No electric went into the car and I unplugged just after 2.30pm and went out……
Let’s see what happens

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours

I wonder if between 2-3pm all household electricity is charged at peak rate or the off peak rate it normally is when you charge the car and get a slot? Octopus were quite clear that if you're on IOG only the car charging would be credited. All other use would be peak rate. Octopus state your normal...

Re: Octopus Free Power Hours

I think what Richard is inferring they’d charge all use except the car at peak rate which never happens when you have a schedule. I suspect that all use will be charged at 7p and they know how much has gone into the car and that will be credited. I tried to get a schedule that wasn’t 2-3pm and just ...

I’ll get a schedule but I’ll export during the hour and see what happens.

Re: Extra cooling

If I left it on constantly it would work like that but I’m balancing export and import so I only turn the cooling on early evening and it takes about an hour for the water to cool sufficiently for the fans to come on, on certain radiators. Our property is 90 years old and has had a few additions so ...

Re: Extra cooling

The radiators, which are low water content, have a heat exchanger in them and a fan blows hot or cold air depending on the setting.
Not had any issues with condensation

Re: Extra cooling

25°c downstairs with a few bi-folds open is pretty nice temp. Upstairs is too hot for me to sleep in, so needs to sub 23°c, radiator cooling on from 8pm-1am, although I think I’ll need an extra hour to night as it’s for east to be pretty hot around here today. Still getting to grips having no buffer...

Re: Where am I ?

Need an update on the eu charging costs :joker:
I have a friend who is also driving through France to northern Spain today in a Mercedes EQE, range is 380 on a full charge, I think his hotels all have on site chargers though
