Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
Thanks NoraBatty! The lower DIY battery is sitting on the rack frame itself, I designed it to be 6U in height so it fits well. The upper DIY battery is sitting on a pair of these supports: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B083N35SCZ The Pylontech batteries also have a pair of the supports below them, wit...

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
I helped a friend increase their battery stack from 17.5kWh to about 47kWh this weekend. 2 x 15s DIY batteries added to the system, still a little work to do to integrate a battery controller that will handle both the pylontech and JK BMS batteries into one system. https://i.postimg.cc/kGh3QcFR/Scre...

Does your inverter use a CT clamp? Could you relocate it so that it can't see the load from the car charger?

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
Another EV has joined the family, I bought a Zoe R135 for Mum at the weekend, less than 7k miles on it. Mum doesn't have a drive and the parking is too far away from her space, but a charger is being fitted at my sister's later this month. Feels great to be retiring another ICE, especially as it was...

Thanks for the picture, I wasn't sure how you had handled the terminal interface.
Very neat solution!

Re: Nowty Towers DIY Battery Project
Out of curiosity, what forklift fuse have you used, Nowty?
The ones I'm looking at appear to have a 11mm ID, whereas my battery terminals are 6mm.

Sadly no ASHP here, but I do have a Samsung HP tumble dryer. Only takes about 400-500w of power input and superb performance.
The E-Niro has a heat pump too, but I have no real idea of the power rating.

Re: Wind proof bin store
Moments like this that I wish the mobile air conditioning unit I was given could heat as well.
Saying that, solar gain is keeping the house pretty warm, only 2Kwh of gas used to heat the house today.
Good use of the unit for testing!

Re: Setting Lux to discharge to house while exporting PV
Stinsy, Octopus offer non MCS export when you provide sufficient documentation plus a £250 application fee. You can see an overview of the process here: https://solarenergyconcepts.co.uk/practical-and-diy/export-solar-energy-from-diy-system/ I assume that's what bpabpa did. I looked at doing this, b...
