Re: Changing FIT supplier
Good Energy is our FIT supplier and we don't use them for any supply to our property. Whether this would be the case for a new account I don't know but I have deliberately kept our FIT away from our energy supplier. I have generally not had any issues with good energy. They can be slow to respond an...

Re: New UK AI datacentre could cause five times emissions of Birmingham airport
The problem is that if this datacentre is denied permission, it'll still be built, just somewhere with a much dirtier grid than the UK. I don't think the current UK strategy will allow this investment or the facility to be put outside of the UK. People are mixing up the superfluous AI (the bulk of ...

Re: New UK AI datacentre could cause five times emissions of Birmingham airport
The thing is that we need to ensure we don't fall behind on the AI and absolutely have to have our own national systems. So whilst the energy draw is massive - we need to look at ways to mitigate this as far as possible rather than say we cannot do these AI centres till we can do it with green energ...

Re: Hydroponic Growing
I did notice that .... but really the only thing basically that is different is the rectangular drain pipe they seem to have (100mm by 50mm) and there are a couple of options: 1. We use flat ventilation ducting (which is 110mm by 54mm external dimensions) - but this seems to be a bit more expensive ...

Re: Hydroponic Growing
Been digging around you tube a lot and found this Australian chap (Hoocho) and he seems to have a lot of ideas and a lot of 3D printable designs for things.
Have you come across him and if so what do you think?

Re: Hydroponic Growing
I would be interested in that STL if you don't mind sharing (and it is allowed?)
I assume that means you have a 3D printer too? Do you mind me asking what printer you use?
Cheers,

Re: Hydroponic Growing
I am back with a few more questions! I have been reading up a lot more on Kratky. The link you provided had a link to one of his papers ( here ) and it looks like a very well thought out system with minimal intervention needed. The Lettuce boxes are pretty straight forward and the suggested method i...

Re: Hydroponic Growing
Thanks SH for the info ..... few more questions if you don't mind me asking. 1. Is there any specific vermiculite to use or avoid? Do you have a preference? 2. Do you only use the hydroponics system indoors? - I guess rain diluting the nutrient mix would be the issue outside? 3. How do you start you...
